Rigging works and lighting upgrade for Accor Stadium

DISMANTLE 566 METAL HALIDE LIGHTS AND INSTALL 354 NEW L.E.D LIGHTS AND ASSIST WITH THE INSTALLATION OF 80 TOWER LIGHTS AT ACCOR STADIUM.

Accor Stadium

Client: Stowe Australia

Project: Accor Stadium

Scope: To dismantle and replace the pre-existing 566 metal halide lights, which had been in operation for 22 years, with 354 new L.E.D lights within a tight time frame of 13 days without compromising safety.

Execution:  We achieved this with 16 riggers, split into teams 4 and attacking the task on 4 fronts. North East, South East, North West and South West.

Each team was equipped with hand tools, rigging equipment, radios and safety equipment.

We built momentum in the early stages of the job, by test fitting all the davit arms, winches and rigging equipment.

Working off the back of this momentum, we able to fly through this job without any issues or dramas and finishing 3 days ahead of schedule.

Outcome:

  1. Engineering -> Designing the davit arm in a way that was easy for the riggers to install, making us efficient and saved us critical time.
  2. Safety is paramount -> Especially with high-risk work, by utilising an experienced team and the job planning, we minimised the risk significantly, our team took the up most care when lifting/lowering the lights and most importantly of themselves and others on site.
  3. Planning -> We organised and test fitted everything before the job started, which was a critical part of the project, where we ironed out any foreseeable issues and cross checked all the equipment, ensured the job was going to be executed as planned.

Other Notes: We were able to rectify any engineering changes on the same day. (which is huge, not too many businesses can execute this, even companies with their own engineers cannot do this)
