Crane Service Industries (CSI) began in 2018 as a direct result of identifying a gap in the Crane services market offered to builders and developers.
CSI is a niche and growing crane business to which most of our competitors’ envy as we think outside the box regarding our clients. This lateral thinking creates additional value when our clients are faced with developing, construction and building site challenges.
I have 20+ years on-the-job experience, starting as an apprentice electrician. This is where I established my unique set of crane skills. During my career I have worked on large scale cranes as a critical technician, electrician and advanced rigger. This has allowed me to diversify and gain additional experience in the mining and offshore oil platform sectors, where I was able to work on various vertical transport platforms and systems. I have installed and repaired a range of lift and vertical transport platforms from the whole East Coast of Australia to Northern Territory through to South East Asia.
I started a small contracting business which maintained all Lend Lease’s tower cranes. This business started to grow, and soon I started looking after other cranes, such as Hutchinson Builders, TC Build and other builders who own their own cranes. Not only did my business attract leadership developer brands, other crane companies required our assistance to erect, dismantle and repair their cranes. This has enabled CSI to work on many large projects where we are responsible for the lifecycle of crane management for our clients.
In 2020, I expanded the company and bought a few cranes of our own to service the construction industry.

I had the pleasure of working with Mick Cowling and his crew over the past 18 months following recommendation from Hutchies crane co-ordinator in QLD for the service/maintenance of our Comedil 260 tower crane.
This project is an 18 storey Residential tower from B3 to L14 with a 2000m2 footprint and the crane working efficiently at all times was essential. We had numerous issues due to the age of our crane and the boys from CSI were always available as required to keep us working. Emergency call outs were actioned on the day for the majority of the project and if not available on the day the crew would be with me at 6am the following day to troubleshoot and rectify issue to get us going again.
It has been a pleasure operating with Mick, he is extremely diligent and knowledgeable in his trade and always gave me a comprehensive report following any works actioned – I would not hesitate to use CSI again and look forward to doing so.

We needed the roof structure completed on a project as due to covid restrictions the riggers engaged were in a locked LGA. They completed the works in a professional manner and on very short notice CSI supplied & installed miscellaneous steelwork on the project in addition to completing rigging works to the roof structure.
